Surguja police arrests three people in connection with drug case, recovers 625 grams of brown sugar and 110 grams of heroin worth Rs 1.10 crore

 

Raipur: Surguja Police
has got a huge success under the “Nava Bihan” campaign launched against the use of drugs.
The police team arrested three people, including inter-state smugglers, and
recovered 625 grams of brown sugar and 110 grams of heroin from them.

According to police the
value of the seized brown sugar and heroin in the international market is said
to be around Rs 1.10 lakh.

Kamble told the media persons that on the instructions of IG Ajay Kumar Yadav, the Nava Bihan drug de-addiction campaign is being run in the district. Under this
campaign, continuous action is also being taken against the use of drugs.
Meanwhile, Gandhinagar police had received information from the informer that
23-year-old Russell Ekka, a resident of Namnakala, sells brown sugar illegally
and people from Jharkhand and Bihar are coming to supply him brown sugar.

Following the action,
the police arrested 52-year-old Mrityunjay Gupta alias Papu Soni, resident of Jharkhand, and 48-year-old Geeta Soni alias Sonarin along with accused Russell Ekka. 20
grams of brown sugar was recovered from the accused Russell Ekka, 105 grams of
brown sugar from Mrityunjay Gupta alias Pappu Soni. Along with 500 grams of brown
sugar, 110 grams of heroin has been recovered from Geeta Soni. The SP has
announced a reward for the entire police team for this big success.
