Paddy lifting for custom milling at rapid pace in Chhattisgarh, 94.47 lakh Metric Tonnes of Paddy procured

procurement for custom milling is happening at a rapid pace in Chhattisgarh.
Till March 15, 94.47 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been procured in the
state. Expeditious work is also being done by the state government to deposit
rice in the Central Pool. So far, 29.78 lakh metric tonnes of rice have been
deposited in the central pool. This includes 16.06 lakh metric tonnes of rice
deposited in the Food Corporation of India and 13.72 lakh metric tonnes in the
Civil Supplies Corporation.

Verma informed that this year on the initiative of the Chief Minister, along
with the purchase of paddy, procuring of paddy for custom milling is also being
done rapidly. So far a record-breaking 94.47 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has
been procured through DO and TO. Verma informed that DO of 73 lakh 63 thousand
metric tonnes of paddy has been issued. 71 lakh 70 thousand metric tonnes of
paddy has been procured by the millers from the procurement centers. Similarly,
for the transportation of 23 lakh 37 thousand metric tonnes of paddy, a T.O.
has been issued. Against which 22 lakh 78 thousand metric tonnes of paddy has
been procured from the committees. Paddy lifting and custom milling from paddy
procurement centers is also going on in an efficient and rapid manner. This
year 61.65 lakh metric tonnes of Arva rice is to be deposited in the central
pool.
