Hurt by Collector’s attempt to tarnish state government’s image,

Bilaspur MLA Shailesh Pandey writes to CM requesting action for Coolector Mittar.

Bilaspur: Serious concern over the style of working of Bilaspur Collector Dr Saransh Mittar, MLA Shailesh Pandey has written a letter to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel demanding immediate transfer of the collector and action against him under National Security Act (NSA).

The Bilaspur MLA said in the letter that the District Collector is leaving no stone unturned to insult the state government and elected public representatives, denting the image of the government.

The MLA further said that the state government is trying to reach out to people and work with them for the development. Elected public representatives too trying their level best to reach out to people with state government run welfare scheme, but the administration head of Bilaspur is busy in insulting people as well as public representatives.

Like every year, Chhattisgarh celebrated the Foundation Day on November 1. It was directed to organise Rajyotsav programmes in every district.

The State government had sent the list of chief guests for the programems while the district collectors were given the power to select the other guests for the function, said MLA Pandey.

Along with the ruling party, the Legislators of the Opposition should have been invited. But the MLAs of the ruling party, who are a part of this government, were not invited.

Other public representatives such as mayor, chairman and district panchayat president were also not invited by writing their names in the card respectfully. On the other hand, district collectors of Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Mungeli respectfully invited the public representatives to the Rajyotsav programmes, Pandey writes to the Chief Minister. The dictatorial attitude of the Bilaspur collector insulted the state government and the elected representatives. The cards which were sent to the guests have become talk of the town as dignity of the guests was not maintained in the invitation. The work done by the Collector is an insult to the government, which comes under the category of sedition. The officials of the administration keep insulting in this way every day, due to which the image of the government and the image of elected public representatives is getting tarnished, sending wrong message among the public.

Therefore Collector Dr Saransh Mittar should be immediately removed from Bilaspur and sedition charge should be initiated against him,” Pandey wrote to the Chief Minister.
