CM Launches new Adolescent Empowerment Program in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, 22 November 2021. The Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, launched an innovative adolescent empowerment program here today.
The program, titled as ‘Tarunya Warta’ (Adolescent Talk), is a joint initiative of UNICEF and Bharat Scouts and Guides. It aims to improve awareness and behaviours around health, nutrition, life skills and protection of adolescents in the state. It will directly reach about 2 Lakh adolescents and 20 lakh people.
Lauding the initiative, Chhattisgarh Education Minister, Mr. Premsai Tekam, said that it should be scaled up across the state.
Job Zachariah, Chief of UNICEF Chhattisgarh suggested that the state could develop an integrated adolescent empowerment program combining various programs in different departments. “A convergent platform to monitor all adolescent programs at state level could be setup under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister”, Zachariah added.
Vinod Sevanlal Chandrakar ( State Chief of Bharat Scouts and Guides), Mr. Kailash Soni ( Secretory, Bharat Scouts and Guides), Dr. Roshni Singh ( Samsidiya Sachiv), and Mohan Kerketa and Ram Kumar Yadav ( MLA s) attended the event, among others.
