Campaigning for second phase to end in Chhattisgarh’s 70 assembly constituencies on Wednesday

Raipur Campaigning for the second phase will cease in the 70 legislative assembly constituencies of Chhattisgarh at 5 pm on Wednesday. There are 958 candidates in the fray, including a transgender candidate. Key candidates in the second phase include Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Deputy Chief Minister T S Singhdeo, BJP State President Arun Sao, Leader of Opposition Narayan Chandel, BJP MP Parliament Renuka Singh, JCC-J leader Dr. Renu Jogi, Brijmohan Agrawal, Rajesh Munat, O P Choudhary, and BJP MP Vijay Baghel. Public campaigning will be prohibited 48 hours before the end of the voting time. However, during this period, candidates can engage in door-to-door outreach. In the 70 constituencies of the second phase, a total of 958 candidates are trying their luck, including 827 males, 130 females, and one transgender candidate. A total of 1,63,14,479 voters in the state will exercise their voting rights, including 81,41,624 male voters, 81,72,171 female voters, and 684 transgender voters. To ensure smooth voting, a total of 18,833 polling centers have been set up, with 700 centers exclusively for women polling staff. In the second phase of the assembly elections on November 17, voting will take place in the 70 constituencies between 8 am and 5 pm, except for the nine polling centers in the Bindranawagarh constituency – Kamarbhoudi, Amamora, Odh, Bade Gobra, Ganwarigang, Gariba, Nagesh, Sahbeenkachhar, and Kodomali – where voting will take place from 7 am to 3 pm. In the remaining polling centers in Bindranawagarh and the other 69 constituencies, voting will take place from 8 am to 5 pm. In the second phase of the legislative assembly elections, voting will take place in Bharatpur-Sonhat, Manendragarh, Baikunthpur, Premnagar, Bhatgaon, Pratappur, Ramanujganj, Samri, Lundra, Ambikapur, Sitapur, Jashpur, Kunakuri, Pathalgaon, Lailunga, Raigarh, Sarangarh, Kharasia, Dharmjaygarh, Rampur, Korba, Katghora, Pali-Tanakhar, Marwahi, Kota, Lormi, Mungeli, Takhatpur, Bilha, Bilaspur, Beltara, Masturi, Akaltara, Janjgir-Champa, Sakti, Chandrapur, Jaijaipur, Pamgarh, Saraipali, Basna, Khallari, Mahasamund, Bilaigarh, Kasdol, Baloudabazar, Bhata Para, Dharsiwa, Raipur Rural, Raipur Nagar West, Raipur Nagar North, Raipur Nagar South, Arang, Abhanpur, Rajim, Bindranawagarh, Sihawa, Kurud, Dhamtari, Sanjari-Balod, Dondilohara, Gundardehi, Patan, Durg Rural, Durg City, Bhilai Nagar, Vaishali Nagar, Ahirwara, Saja, Bemetara, and Navagadh constituencies.
