Bilaspur. According to the initiative of Bilaspur MLA Shailesh Pandey and the interest of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and School Education Minister Premsai Singh Tekam, a new project started on 19 February 2020. The scheme was Swami Atmanand Excellent English Medium School. Under this scheme, one school was started in all the districts in the first phase. Bilaspur accepted this challenge and in the first phase, four new schools began from 2020-21.
Two thousand five hundred sixty-eight students took admission in these schools; 121 staff got posted on deputation. The government provided schools with state-of-the-art facilities, laboratories, open ground, computer labs, interactive boards for smart classes, pure drinking water management, separate boys and girls toilets, libraries with high-quality books and well-trained teachers of English medium.
For this, material worth Rs 586 lakh was provided from CSR, DMF, Samagra Shiksha and State Government. Due to Covid-19, online classes and other virtual activities were conducted. The children performed well with excellent results.
