Raipur. The special session of the General Body of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Chess Federation was held in Raipur Grand Imperia. Bharat Singh Chauhan, Secretary of, All India Chess Federation, was the chief guest. DC Lunia, president of the Chhattisgarh Pradesh Chess Association, presided over the program. Gurcharan Singh Hora and Raghavendra Singhania, Secretary of Chhattisgarh Olympic Association and Patron of Chhattisgarh State Chess Federation were special guests. K Azulas Ekka of the Sports Youth Welfare Department and Atul Shukla from the Olympic Association were observers. After welcoming the guests, Secretary Hemant Khute presented the progress report, and the Treasurer Pradeep Das gave information about the income and expenditure. Hundred-and-twenty people, including office-bearers of 22 districts participated in this convention. 


Congratulating the new office bearers of the Sangh, the chief guest Bharat Singh Chouhan said that, all of you are brave, hardworking, loyal and dedicated people towards chess. I sincerely hope that you all will work with double enthusiasm. Chess will now develop at a quick pace in the state. He further stated that if needed, Vishwanath Anand will train the promising players of Chhattisgarh. Olympic Association secretary Gurcharan Singh Hora said that there is no dearth of talent in the state. Now international level competitions will be held in the state.


Newly elected President Raghavendra Singhania announced that we are determined to advance in chess. Chhattisgarh will set a new record in the coming days. At the end of the speech, a program of Pratibha Samman was organized in which internationally renowned chess player Ms Kiran Agarwal, besides 20 top players of the state, were honoured with mementoes. The names of the talented players receiving honours are as follows-

Similarly, the list of the newly formed executive committee is as follows: President Raghavendra Singhania, Vice President M Chandrashekhar, Vishwas Meshram, Suresh Jaju, Kiran Aggarwal, Bhavna Bohra, Lalit Bhansali, General Secretary Vinod Rathi, Secretary Hemant Khute, Joint Secretary Anand Awadiya, Ishwar Singh Rajput, Saroj Vaishnav, Vikas Sharma, Shashank Shende, Subodh Kumar Singh, Treasurer Pradeep Das. Ravi Kumar, Alankar Bhivgade, Naveen Shukla, Rajendra Singh Rana, Dinesh Lamba, Dipankar Sengupta, Shiv Shankar Agarwal, Ramesh Agarwal, Mohan as executive members Soni, Ashish Rathi, Yogesh Dakalia, Naveen Agarwal. 


Chhattisgarh Pradesh Chess Association honoured Bharat Singh Chauhan by presenting him a shawl and a memento for his incomparable contribution to chess. On the other hand, State Chess Association general secretary Vinod Rathi was also honoured by the host Raipur unit as Bhishmapitamah of chess. At the end of the program, all the guests were presented with mementoes by the Sangh.
