Raipur. Chhattisgarh Police organized the Meeting-cum-Interaction and Workshop on Joint Cyber Crime Coordination program, under the Ministry of Home Affairs, at Police Headquarters, Nava Raipur. Officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Orissa and Chhattisgarh State, Reserve Bank of India, nodal officers of all other banks and Telecom Service Providers participated in the “Joint Cyber Crime Coordination Team”. JCCT shared their expertise, experiences and challenges.
The Ministry of Home Affairs established the Integrated Cyber Coordination Center (I4C) in 2018 to prevent increasing cybercrime in the country, effective action against crime and establish mutual coordination between different states and work as an integrated system. The entire country is divided into 7 “Regional Cyber Crime Coordination Teams”. Chhattisgarh is a part of JCCT-II. This team includes all the above six states involved in the meeting.
Special Director General of Police R. K. Vij, Special Director General of Police Ashok Juneja and Deepak Virmani, Deputy Secretary, Union Home Ministry, inaugurated today’s workshop. In his welcome address, Ashok Juneja spoke about the growing cybercrime scenario in the country, mentioning the need and dependence of every person on mobile devices and the internet. He urged to solve the challenges of cybercrime in future with cooperation and coordination by various states. In his address, R. K. Vij explained the district wise setup training program and technical aspects of cyber in Chhattisgarh state in detail. R. K. Vij informed about the difficulties and challenges faced during the present investigation of cybercrime. He emphasized removing the shortcomings of the laws related to cybercrime and making them more effective and efficient.
The officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi, who participated in the workshop, explained in detail the work of the “Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center” (I4C) and its other seven components set up to deal with cybercrime at the central level. The steps taken in the direction of cyber awareness and the Cyber Crime Portal, National Cyber Crime Forensic Lab were told by the Ministry of Home Affairs through a PowerPoint presentation. Based on mobile number, the bank account used by cybercriminals, the crime committed in one state got linked with different states. Case studies related to cybercrime in their respective states by the other six states involved in the meeting. Best practices used by criminals in the ‘Modus Operandi’ analysis, the successes achieved, and the main challenges faced were discussed in this forum
In the second session of the workshop, the Reserve Bank of India, Banks and Telecom Service Providers, and the police, discussed getting the necessary information related to cyber in time to take prompt action and the challenges. During the discussion, senior officers present in the matter were directed to rectify the above obstacles. All the stakeholders share their views, problems and experiences in this open forum and make joint efforts towards ending cybercrime in future and prepare a roadmap for effective action.

Cyber Crime, Vishal Sharma from Bihar Police, Commandant, Sunil Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, EOW, Arvind Kumar Binha from Jharkhand Police, Sumeet Prasad, UP, Nurul Absar from Kolkata Police, Amitendra Nath Sinha from Odisha Police, IG and other officers of Police Headquarters Nava Raipur were present.
