Mahasamund Medical College got approval to intake 100 MBBS students for the academic session 2022-23

Raipur: Chhattisgarh’s Mahasamund district has got the approval to intake 100 MBBS students.

Health minister TS Singh Deo took to Twitter giving information in this regard. He wrote in his tweet “It is a pleasure to inform all the people of the state that Chhattisgarh has got approval for setting up a medical college with a capacity of 100 MBBS seats in Mahasamund district. With the establishment of this college, the youth aspiring to become doctors of the state will get better opportunities.”

He further added that teaching work in the college will start from this session itself. At the same time, this medical college will bring about an increase in the health facilities of the area. Our Chhattisgarh is constantly making new achievements in health facilities and medical education. Hearty congratulations to all the people of the state.

Meanwhile, two years ago, approval was given to open new medical colleges in Kanker, Mahasamund and Korba districts in the state. After this, the preparation for establishing new medical colleges started in all three districts. Kanker got the approval for admission last year after an inspection conducted by the NMC.

This time Mahasamund and Korba Medical Colleges were in the race for approval. About 2 months ago, NMC did a virtual inspection of both the colleges on the same day. Since then the final report was awaited.

On Friday, the NMC issued a letter, in which Mahasamund Medical College has been approved to intake 100 MBBS students for the academic session 2022-23.
