The paper leak in the Chhattisgarh School Education Department’s examination has caused a commotion throughout the state. Dr Alok Shukla, Secretary, School Education Department, has indicated that the entire examination might get cancelled. The cancellation might lead to a financial loss of more than one crore.
For the first time, quarterly examinations for classes IX to XII were held in the board format. For this, the board prepared the question papers and sent them to the district education officers. The District Education Officers sent the papers to the schools. The quarterly examination was supposed to begin on September 26 in all Chhattisgarh schools, but the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education cancelled it after learning about the paper leak. Now the school will prepare the question paper for the quarterly assessment at the local level. All the schools will take exams by setting the timetable at their level.
VK Goel, secretary of the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education, said, “The board sent a password-protected letter in PDF to all district education officers through WhatsApp.”
Higher-ranking department officials are trying to determine how the question paper got leaked. The board has cancelled the examination. There might be some legal action against the YouTube channel.
