Cyber Wing of Anti-Crime Unit recovers Rs 24,986 lost to bank fraud
Raipur: The Cyber Wing of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit has helped recover Rs 24,986 that was lost by a Raipur resident to banking fraud. Divya Dubey, a resident of Civil Lines Raipur, filed a complaint with the Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit stating that on February 24, an unknown caller contacted her mobile phone and claimed to be a bank employee, requesting that she update her YONO app in order to provide information about her bank account and obtain an OTP. The caller then duped her of Rs 24,986 along with the obtained information.
Under the direction of senior officials, prompt action was taken by the Cyber Wing of the Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit in response to the complaint, which involved conducting a detailed investigation and obtaining all relevant information from the complainant.
The Cyber Wing contacted the banks where the complainant’s money had been transferred and directed them to freeze the funds. The Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit, along with the Civil Lines police station, contacted the court to initiate the refund process for the complainant’s held funds. As a result of these efforts, the entire amount of Rs. 24,986 was refunded to the complainant’s bank account.
