Yaswant Sahu, Manager of Peeperchhedi cooperative society, suspended for the negligence in token distribution

Yashwant Kumar Sahu, Manager of the cooperative society Peeparchhedi, has been
suspended. Chief Executive Officer of District Co-operative Central Bank, Durg
has suspended the Manager for negligence in distribution of tokens to the
farmers for paddy procurement.

The
government has issued guidelines to distribute tokens to the farmers for
systematic procurement of paddy at support price in the cooperative societies
and procurement centers from December 1. Societies have been directed to
distribute tokens as per their daily capacity of paddy procurement.
Peeperchhedi Society Manager Yashwant Kumar Sahu has been negligent towards
these instructions. The Manager had called the farmers of villages under
Peeperchhedi society for token distribution on Monday which led to overcrowding
and mismanagement at the society.

As
soon as this mismanagement and overcrowding at Cooperative Society Peeparchhedi
was reported, Collector Janmejay Mahobe and SP Sadanand Kumar reached the spot
and inspected the paddy procurement arrangements. The collector informed that
the farmers, who were injured due to overcrowding and chaos, have been
discharged after first aid and their conditions are normal.
