Swami Atmanad Excellent English Medium Schools making quality education affordable for underprivileged children

It was a dream come true moment for Hiralal Aahir, Korba district resident
working in a private company as labor when four of his daughters got admission
in state government-run Swami Atmanand Excellent English Medium School. 

Hit
hard by the Covid pandemic crisis it was tough for Hiralal to afford the
education of his daughters who were then studying in private schools.

“My
husband earns just Rs 8,000 per month. It was tough bearing expenses of school
fees, uniforms, textbooks, and stationery. Our family heaved a huge sigh of
relief with the commencement of government English medium school here. Our
daughters who have always been meritorious, are now getting quality education
which is affordable and not an overburden for us”, said Hiralal’s wife Gauri
Aahir.

Hiralal’s
eldest daughter Priya Rani is in 11th grade, Bhumika in 8th, Tejaswini in 5th,
and the youngest one Garima is studying in 2nd grade.

Sharing
her experience of studying in a government-run English medium school, Hiralal’s
eldest daughter Bhumika said that the quality of education and her experience
of studying here is far better than private school. The teachers here teach in
a fun way by making even the complex topics simpler.

It
is noteworthy that Bhumika has secured the first position in the state-level
Mathematics Olympiad Quiz organized for students of Swami Atmanand English
Medium Schools.

Aahir
has expressed heartfelt gratitude towards chief minister Bhupesh Baghel for his
initiative of starting government-run English medium schools in the state. She
said that now her girls are motivated and want to step forward and participate
in the development of the country.

Dreams
of many such low-income parents who aspire to send their children to English
medium schools for securing their future have come true with the upgradation of
schools in the Korba district under the state government’s ambitious Swami
Atmanand Excellent English Medium School scheme.

As
many as 6 Swami Atmanand Excellent English Medium Schools have been started in
Korba in which about 2,000 children belonging to lower and middle-income
families are pursuing their education. The schools offer top-notch facilities
and infrastructure for children and are well equipped to give students a
world-leading and modern educational experience.

This
has bought a major transformation in government schools and changed the lives
of children belonging to underprivileged families. This has helped students
become enthusiastic and motivated learners.

Similar
is the scenario of the Mahato family, who earn their living by selling
vegetables. Three daughters of the family are getting their education at Swami
Atmanand English Medium School.

“My
husband almost decided to discontinue education due to the high cost of
education and his low income. We faced a hard time financially to make our
daughters study in private schools. However, the opening of Swami Atmanand
English Medium School has brought great relief to the family. In addition to
studies, the school has bought a visible improvement in the language, speech,
and behavior of children. I thank chief minister Bhupesh Baghel for providing
such a great relief for low-income families like us”, said the mother Pramila
Mahto.
