Remove DFO to ensure free and fair by-election in Khairagarh

Khairagarh:BJP Chhattisgarh has urged the Election Commission of India to sack Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Dilraj Prabhakar for ensuring a free and fair election in Khairagarh which is going to by-election on April 12. 

The BJP also sent the complaint letter to the Chief Electoral Officer of State Election Commission, Income Tax Department Assistant Nodal Officer and Election Observer of Khairagarhby-election highlighting the unlawful act of the DFO who, according to the BJP, is creating hurdle to ensure a free and fair election.

The BJP alleged in the complaint that the DFO under the directives of Forest Minister Mohammad Akbar is working in favour of the Congress candidate of Khairagarh by-election. 

The DFO is facilitating voters with distribution of money, saree, liquor and mats/carpets, alleged the BJP. The forest ranger and deputy ranger are helping in the distribution work sitting at the residence of Civil Lines situated residence of the DFO in Khairagarh. Van Dhan Samiti, Van Prabandhan Samiti and Van Upaj Samiti are also helping in this direction, BJP claimed in the letter to the ECI. 

Unless the DFO is removed from here, free and fair poll cannot be expected in Khairagarh, BJP said in the letter.
