Raipur. Chhattisgarh Kisan Mazdoor Mahasangh is conducting Kisan Mahapanchayat on 28th September in Rajim. Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait will also come in this. Organizers claim that 35 to 40 thousand people of the state will gather in the Mahapanchayat. Food arrangements are underway for 40 thousand people in Rajim’s Agricultural Produce Market premises. At the same time, a 40 feet long and 20 feet wide platform has been prepared in the shed of the Mandi complex. All the prominent farmer leaders at the national and regional levels will convene there.

 

Tejram Vidrohi, the convener of the organizing board, said that the Kisan Mahapanchayat preparations are ongoing. Farmer leaders Rakesh Tikait, Dr Darshanpal Singh, Yogendra Yadav, Yudhveer Singh, Dr Sunilam, Medha Patekar, Baldev Singh Sirsa, Balveer Singh etc. are coming to address the Kisan Mahapanchayat. Some leaders like Dr Sunilam, Satyavan have reached Raipur. Medha Patekar and Yogendra Yadav will also reach Raipur by evening. While, Rakesh Tikait and other leaders will reach Raipur by a late night or Tuesday morning flight. From there, they will come to Rajim Agricultural Produce Market Complex.

 The Mahapanchayat will start at 11 am on Tuesday. Tejram Vidrohi said this Mahapanchayat will also give a new direction to the farmers’ movement of Chhattisgarh. The conference was planned a month back against the three controversial agriculture-related laws of the central government.

In this Mahapanchayat, farmers are preparing to pass a resolution. It will include the demand to guarantee the minimum support price by withdrawing the disputed laws related to agriculture. Local issues related to the state government might also be in the proposal.

Given the possibility of a huge crowd in the Kisan Mahapanchayat, the administration is keeping an eye on it. Local officials of police and administration have also taken stock of the security arrangements after reaching Mandi. The administration is making preparations for 10 to 15 thousand people. Police’s sub-divisional officer Sanjay Dhruv said, “All points have been marked for security. Extensive security arrangements are being made. Police personnel will be stationed at all entry points.
