Raipur:The efforts of Chhattisgarh Health and Medical Education Minister T S Singhdeo towards expansion of medical education in the state has yielded positive results. 

Due to the presence of specialist doctors in district hospitals and quality treatment available here, number of seats in DNB (Diplomate of National Board) course in the state is continuously increasing. 

After Durg District Hospital, National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), New Delhi has granted permission for two year Post MBBS Diploma Course DNB in the district hospitals located at Raipur, Kanker and Surajpur. All these hospitals have been given permission for this course for five years. 

Raipur District Hospital has been granted permission for DNB course from January 2022 to December 2026. A total of six seats have been recognized. These include three seats in pediatrics, two in obstetrics and gynecology and one in family medicine.

DNB in Ophthalmology from January 2022 to December 2026 has been approved for KankerDistrict Hospital. Recognition has been given for one seat in Gynecology and one seat in Gynecology and Obstetrics to Surajpur District Hospital from January 2021 to December 2025. It is noteworthy that the Durg District Hospital has already been recognised for two seats each in ENT and Paediatrics and DNB.
