Mungeli deputy collector accused of demanding bribe for making ration card

Mungeli:A socking video showing former Lormi JanpadPanchayat chief executive officer (CEO) and deputy collector of Mungeli Anuradha Agrawal demanding for bribe had gone viral, raising several eyebrows. It is may be mentioned, the deputy collector had come into limelight a few years ago when she  occupied the hot seat of Amitabh Bachchan’s TV reality show ‘KaunBanega Crorepati’.

A video of a conversation between the Deputy Collector and Khushboo Aditya Vaishnav, a female public representative, is doing viral. The has been made viral by Khushboo Vaishnav writing a caption through his Facebook that money is being demanded by the officer for making ration card.

According Khushboo, the officer was seen saying about an MLA and some Sagar Bhaiya and if they come then they will have to be managed.

Deputy Collector Anuradha Agrawal said that the allegations made on the basis of this video are baseless. This video has been tampered. “There was a demand to make ration card of about one and a half dozen people, on which I am saying that ration card will be issued as per rules,” according to the Deputy Collector.

The Deputy Collector said that the public representative pressurised her to make a ration card against the rules. “When I refused to do such kind of work, I am being framed. This video is one and a half two months old, when I was CEO in Lormi district. Currently, I am on maternity leave,” the deputy collector said. Collector Dr Gaurav Kumar Singh said that after investigation, if the facts are found to be correct, action will be taken against the culprits.

Meanwhile, Khushboo alleged that the former CEO demanded Rs 2000 bribe for the making of ration card. 18 villagers had gone to the CEO’s office to get ration cards made, then Anuradha Agrawal reportedly told that they should do something about it. She demandedfrom the Chief Minister and the Collector to remove such officer.
