Talking to media
persons at the Rest House in Jagdalpur on Thursday, Deo said that he was on the
tour to take stock of the progress made on various public welfare schemes
especially work of his departments like health, Panchayat and rural
development.

Deo said that he was
surprised to see the approach of Collectors and SPs who did not even meet him
once during his visit which is a courtesy. Usually Collector and SP come to
meet when a minister of cabinet rank visit to their respective districts, but
here the thing is going well. The officers are like his son. The officers
should not have made this a prestige issue. They must pay respect to the
seniors and the position they hold, said the health minister.

On two and a half year
formula, Deo said that it is past now and the ball is still in the court of Congress
high command and the decision has to come.

He met the
representatives of non-government organizations. He held a meeting with
officers and inspected Medical College Dimrapal.

Deo left Jagdalpur for
Kanker by a helicopter where he was accorded a warm welcome by the party
workers. He will hold a review meeting with officers at Kanker Collectorate on
Friday and have night halt in Dhamtari on Friday. He will hold a review meeting
with officers at Dhamtari Collectorate on Saturday.
