HC orders CBI probe into 2018 murder case

Raipur:High Court Single Bench ordered a CBI probe in connection with murder of four persons of a family in Mahasamund district in 2018.

According to the case,  four persons of a family –  YogmayaSahu (28), her husband Chaitanya Sahu (30), their children Kunal Sahu (9) and Tanmay Sahu (7) –  were brutally killed at village Kishanpur under Pithora police station limits in Mahasamund in  May 2018. Yogmaya was working in the Sub health Centre of the village. 

On the basis of the investigation report, police arrested one accused identified as Dharmendra Bariha who confessed to the crime. In his statement, the accused told the police that he broke into the victims’ house with the intention to commit burglary but was caught by Chaitanya. In a heat of rage, the accused killed everyone in the house.

Dissatisfied by the working and probe carried out by police, Chaitanya’s father Babulal Sahu filed a plea in the high court through advocate Raghvendra Pradhan. Hearing the plea, the court of Justice Goutam Bhaduri ordered a CBI probe in the case.

It may be recalled that during narco test of Dharmendra, he revealed the names of four persons identified as Phool Singh YadavGauri Shankar Kewat, Suresh Khunte and AkhandalPradhan. Acting on the inputs collected from the narco test, police arrested these four persons as well.
