Following CM Baghel’s intervention, Ministry of Railways restores operation of six trains passing through Chhattisgarh

Raipur:Following the intervention of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the Ministry of Railways has decided to esumerestored the operation of 6 important passenger trains passing through Chhattisgarh. The services of six trains resumes are 18237/18238 Korba-Amritsar-Korba (Chhattisgarh Express), 12807/12808 Visakhapatnam-Nizamuddin-Visakhapatnam (Samta Express) and 12771 /12772 Secunderabad-Raipur-Secunderabad Express.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had on Tuesday spoken to the Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw urging him for the resumption of operation of 23 trains suspended by the SECR for necessary works and expansion of facilities for passengers. 

Principal Chief Operations Manager, South East Central Railway (SECR), Bilaspur had issued an order on 23 April 2022 to suspend the operation of 23 express and local trains passing through Chhattisgarh for the next one month from 24 April 2022.

Chief Minister Baghel, however, had raised strong objection to the decision of the SECR. Following the instructions of the Chief Minister, the Additional Chief Secretary Chhattisgarh wrote a letter to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Railway Board urging him to continue the operation of trains passing through Chhattisgarh. 

The Chief Minister Baghel on Tuesday also discussed the matter the Union Railway Minister. During discussion, the Railway Minister had assured the Chief Minister to resolve the issue.
