CM virtually inaugurates Eco Learning Center Dudhawa and Eco Tourism Center Kodar

In a bid to boost eco-tourism, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday
virtually inaugurated the eco-learning center built around Dudhawa Dam in North
Bastar Kanker and eco-tourism site built near Kodar Reservoir in Mahasamund
district.

Congratulating
the forest management committee of the area concerned for developing a
beautiful tourist spot near the reservoir amidst the forest area, Chief
Minister said that this would also boost employment opportunities for locals.
The tourists here will be able to have a memorable and satisfying nature-based
tourism experience at these newly developed eco-tourism spots.  Besides, this will also raise awareness among
the tourists regarding environmental conservation and allow them to gain
knowledge regarding wildlife and biodiversity.

Development
works worth Rs 39.14 lakh have been completed in the eco-tourism site Van
Chetna Kendra Kodar while works worth Rs 40 lakh are in progress. Currently,
works related to the upgradation of the access road, water supply system, ‘Machans’,
treehouse, nature trail, bird watching, and motorboat facility are in progress.
Facilities of organizing adventure camps and staying in the lap of nature with
mesmerizing forest surroundings are available here to lure the tourists.

Van
Chetna Kendra Kodar has been developed as an eco-tourism destination as per the
announcement made by Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel in March this year for
tourism development under Ram Van Gaman Path in the Sirpur of Mahasamund
district.

Van
Chetna Kendra Kodar is located 65 kms away from 17 Kms from Mahasamund district
headquarter and 20 meters from Sirpur city on National Highway 53. A wonderful
blend of adventure, entertainment, health, culture, and environment tourism is served
in a platter for tourists here to give them a memorable experience. Other
attractions here include night camping, campfire, and stargazing. Arrangement
of Volleyball, Net Cricket, Badminton, Carrom, Chess, and Shooting and boating
and bamboo rafting has been made here for entertainment and refreshment of
tourists here. The tourists here will also be able to enjoy the ethnic food of
Chhattisgarh.  The visitors here can also
enjoy relaxing sunset and fishing along with taking Selfies at the selfie
zone at the reservoir site surrounded by tall hills. A stall has also been set
up here for the sale of products made by local women’s self-help groups and
Sanjeevani products. Tourists may also visit the Khallari Mata temple located
nearby.

Minimal
construction work has been done in this Eco-Tourism Center situated in the lap
of nature using the funds of DMF, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment
Guarantee Scheme, MLA fund, and funds from the unit concerned of forest
department.

The
Eco Learning Center located at Dudhawa Reservoir in Kanker district will be
operated by the Forest Management Committee. This tourist place is developed
realizing Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel’s vision of “Gadhbo Nava
Kanker. Facilities for accommodation, food, adventure; trekking, and motorboat
are being started here for the tourists. Training will also be given in this
center and this site will be developed as Eco Park.

Chairman
of Forest Management Committee Devchand Bhaskar told Chief Minister on the
inaugural occasion that the beauty of this place will catch the attraction of
tourists and we hope to increase employment opportunities for locals with the
opening of this center. Dudhawa Gram Panchayat Sarpanch Shyam Netam said that
this area has been developed so beautifully that it seems that we have come to
Mini Goa. Rajendra Yadav of Gram Panchayat Sunna told the Chief Minister that he
had bought scooty worth Rs 85, 000 by selling cow dung worth Rs 1.57 lakh and
he is now investing in his children’s education with the savings.

Parliamentary
Secretary Shishupal Singh Sori addressed the programme organized in Dudhwa while
Parliamentary Secretary Vinod Sevan Lal Chandrakar in Kodar. Local public
representatives, district administration officials, members of the area forest
management committee concerned were present on the occasion.
