Jagdalpur. Attending the concluding ceremony of the 75-day Bastar Dussehra at Muriya Darbar in Jagdalpur on Sunday, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel announced that a clerk and a peon would be recruited, dedicating their services to the temple, following a demand from the public representatives.

Further, Chief Minister announced that Government Engineering College Jagdalpur would be named after Veer Jhada Sirha and a modern Jyoti room would be built at the Danteshwari Mandir, Jagdalpur. The Chief Minister said that Muriya Darbar is an example of the democratic traditions of ancient India as the kings, officers and employees used to sit together and discuss the problems of people once upon a time.

Baghel said that the Bastar Dussehra is a unique cultural event of Chhattisgarh. The Chief Minister promised a beautiful, pleasant and prosperous Bastar with the policy of development, trust and security. 

 He said that the government would give the third instalment of Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana on Foundation Day of Chhattisgarh on November 1.   Industries Minister Kawasi Lakhma expressed his gratitude towards the Chief Minister for announcing Rs 5 lakh for the construction of Devgudi and Rs 10 lakh for the construction of Gotul. 

Bastar Dussehra Samiti President and MP Deepak Baij informed that fifty-three trees were cut to make the chariot this year, and 500 were planted. He also notified that Rs 15 lakh has been sanctioned for Manjhi Chalaki Bhawan. Parliamentary Secretary Rekhchand Jain and Collector Rajat Bansal also addressed the programme. The Chief Minister also distributed honorarium among manjhi, chalki and executive members.

The Chief Minister inaugurated various development works and performed Bhoomi puja of a commercial complex at Gole Bazar besides inaugurating a high mast light during the visit. Chief Minister visited the Bastar Art Gallery and Dalpatsagar too.
