Former Congress National President Rahul Gandhi will visit Raipur on 3rd February. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel returned from his election tour of Uttar Pradesh and Punjab on Monday evening and reached the Science College ground. Here, he took stock of the preparations with ministers and senior officials. Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain had reached the Science College ground in the afternoon. Rahul Gandhi is going to launch the state government’s ambitious Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana from here.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel gave necessary directions to the officials regarding the main event venue, departmental exhibition space, parking and other arrangements. He inspected various sectors including the development exhibition being organized by various departments and took information about the electricity, drinking water arrangements along with the traffic in the venue to the officials. He also reviewed the VIP movement and security arrangements at the venue.

Raipur Collector Saurabh Kumar said that on February 3, Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana is to be inaugurated here. The preparations for the same are underway. The development performance will focus especially on the development and livelihood activities of Bastar. During this, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Subrata Sahu, Principal Secretary Dr. Lok Shukla, Secretary to Chief Minister Siddharth Komal Singh Pardesi, Secretary General Administration Department Dr. Kamalpreet Singh etc. were also present there.

Rahul Gandhi will also launch the Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club scheme here. On this occasion, he will also perform Bhoomi Pujan of Gandhi Seva Village to be built in Nava Raipur on the lines of Wardha and Amar Jawan Jyoti to be established in Mana.

On February 3, the first installment will be paid in the bank accounts of 3 lakh 55 thousand landless agricultural laborers registered in the scheme. For this scheme, the state government has made a provision of Rs 200 crore in the budget. Under the scheme, 6 thousand rupees are to be given to the landless agricultural laborers in three different installments in a year.

BJP state spokesperson and former minister Rajesh Munat has raised questions on the entire event. He said that all gatherings are banned in the state. The government has made it mandatory for people to follow Covid guidelines for their family and religious programs, then how and at whose behest the government is organising Rahul Gandhi’s program in the capital. He said, when the government itself is intent on flouting the rules and regulations made by it, then why is the common man being compelled and punished to follow these rules.
