Raipur:Nobel laureate Abhijit Banerjee among eminent educationists of the country will grace the occasion.
As Chhattisgarh government is set to host its first national level education conference called Pt Jawaharlal Nehru National Education Conference in Raipur on November 14 and 15, Nobel Laureate Abhijit Banerjee among eminent educationists across the nation will grace the Conference.
School Education Department joint secretary and State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) director Rajesh Singh Rana held a meeting of the officials on Tuesday evening, regarding the preparations for the important eventtaking place for the first time in the state.
According to Rana, education ministers, education secretaries and director level officers of School Education Department from other states, NGOs working in the field of education and innovative teachers of other states will be attending the programme.
The presence of Nobel laureate Abhijit Banerjee will certainly enhance the importance of the programme, according to Rana. He said that Banerjee was honoured with Nobel prize in 2019 in Economic Sciences. Banerjee’s work in the field of education and society with experimental approach to remove global poverty had brough him the highest honour.
To be mentioned, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister, during his stay at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, USA met with Banerjee.
A multilingual book, innovative books of Chhattisgarh’s scholars will also be launched during the two-day programme. Creative books written by 36 scholars will also be released on the occasion. Further, discussions will be held to build Vision 2030, what will be the goals and how to achieve it.
