Candidates with clean image, public followings  to be given tickets in Civic Body poll: Punia

Raipur:Chhattisgarh Congress In-charge P L Punia on Thursday said that Congress in the state is at a strong position. The Congress government of the state has achievements of three successful years under its belt and it can approach people with these achievements, said Punia while referring to the Civic Body polls to be held in the state on December 20. 15 civic bodies of the state are going to the poll.

Punia, who was in Raipur to hold a meeting on civic body elections, said that candidates with clean image and public following should be given ticket in the civic body elections. 

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, State Congress President Mohan Markam and other senior leaders of the party were present in the important meeting ahead of the civic body elections. The meeting lasted for more than two hours at Rajiv Bhawan in Raipur.

Punia made it clear that bio-data will not be collected from the candidates rather a survey will be conducted in the Wards to search a candidate who can win the elections. Ward Committee and Booth Committees should be constituted by November 30, said Punia, adding Manifesto Committee and Publicity Committee should also be constituted. Later talking to the media, Punia said that the manifesto will have genuine issues and agenda which will be related to public.
