About one lakh eighty thousand teachers from class I to class XII are going to self-assess in schools operating in the state. The Self-assessment started yesterday. The page of Teacher Self Assessment has been added on the Padhai Tuhar Duar Portal of the School Education Department itself. All the teachers were made aware of the method of self-assessment through a webinar by the State Council of Educational Research and Training from 3 pm on Saturday. After this, this page of teacher self assessment became active on the portal. Teachers will be able to do their self assessment through mobile.

All the District Education Officers have been entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring self-assessment of 100% teachers of their district. The Principal of 5540 clusters of the state will ensure self-assessment of teachers of all the schools under their cluster centers.

Giving information to this effect, Director of State Council of Educational Research and Training Rajesh Singh Rana said that this tool of teacher self-assessment has been developed by the State Educational Council Research and Training Council. It is based on a simplified version of the Teacher Self Assessment Tool PinDICS (2013) and TSAR (2019) developed by NCERT. Rajesh Singh Rana said that this tool of teacher self-assessment assesses teachers on 6 performance parameters. Teachers assess their own performance levels on 40 performance indicators related to these parameters. With this tool of self assessment teachers get to know their own strengths and weaknesses and get acquainted with the areas of their educational advancement. Teachers will be able to understand the need for guidance and training by knowing their weak areas. SCERT has developed the Teacher Self-Assessment Chhattisgarh with technical support from NIC.
