Unity Run Organized in CU on the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Patel.

Bilaspur. A run for unity, Unity Run, was organized jointly by Dean Student Welfare, Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat and National Service Scheme on the occasion of the celebration of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Jayanti (National Unity Day) at Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (Central University) at 8.00 a.m.on October 31, 2022, under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Professor Alok Kumar Chakrawal. While lighting the lamp, guests on the dais offered flowers in front of the oil paintings of Maa Saraswati, Sant Guru Ghasidas, and Sardar Patel. Professor M.N. Tripathi, the program’s convener and Dean of Student Welfare, gave the welcome address.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Chakrawal, presided over the programme and stated that a tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel would be to imbibe ideals and values from his life. Sardar Patel gave his entire life for the country’s unity and integrity, uniting a country that had previously been divided into princely states. The youth should learn the unique quality of organization from the life lessons of Sardar Patel. With such motivation, youth should actively and positively contribute to the development of society and the country. He also stated that the nation is larger than the individual and that, like Sardar Patel, we should carry out our responsibilities with the national interest in mind.

Everyone observed a moment of silence in memory of the tragic bridge collapse in Morbi, Gujarat. The Vice-Chancellor of Rajat Jayanti Sabhagar launched the Run for Unity. The race concluded at Rajat Jayanti Sabhagar, after passing by Guru Ghasidas’ statue and returning to Rajat Jayanti Sabhagar, followed by a viewing of an exhibition based on the life of Sardar Patel. The Vice-Chancellor administered the oath of unity and integrity. Winners of various competitions held under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat received certificates.

The guests were honoured by presenting mementoes. Finally, the Registrar of the University, Professor Manish Srivastava, delivered the vote of thanks. Dr Garima Tiwari, Assistant Professor in the Department of Forestry, Wildlife, and Environmental Science, led the programme. On this occasion, Deans, Heads of Departments, teachers, officers, research scholars, and students from various Schools were present.
