Pramod Dubey Part of BJP’s Team! Former Minister Ajay Chandrakar Says – He’s BJP’s ‘Net Bowler,’ I Won’t Say Anything Against Him
Raipur
Speculation over whether senior Congress leader Pramod Dubey is aligned with the BJP surged on Sunday. Fuelling this discussion was a statement by senior BJP MLA and former minister Ajay Chandrakar, who remarked, “He’s our friend, and I won’t say anything against him.” Chandrakar openly shared this with the media.
This comes after Congress leader Pramod Dubey recently held a press conference regarding the Raipur South elections, where he criticised the BJP for keeping Raipur away from development. When media sought Chandrakar’s reaction to Dubey’s statements on Sunday, he responded with a smile, calling Dubey the BJP’s “net bowler.”
Chandrakar further elaborated on his cricket analogy, saying that just as batsmen need to practice against good bowlers in the nets, Pramod Dubey plays the role of a net bowler for the BJP. He implied this by referring to Dubey’s political performance, noting that he has often been defeated by the BJP in elections, thus dubbing him their “net bowler.”
\Kawasi Lakhma Has Drunk Water of Budha Talab
During a campaign in Raipur South, Congress leader Kawasi Lakhma was seen dancing, to which Ajay Chandrakar quipped, “He’s dancing because he’s drunk the water of Budha Talab.” He joked that the 50-crore Budha Talab (pond) project has had its effect, suggesting that Congress should issue a white paper on the funds spent on landmarks in Raipur South over the past five years, including Budha Talab and the City Kotwali.
In response to Chhattisgarh Congress President Deepak Baij’s remarks comparing an encounter in Bhilai to squashing an ant, Chandrakar criticized him, saying, “Congress has no moral right to speak about encounters, crime, or Naxalism.” He added that Baij’s statements make him seem more like Bhupesh Baghel’s spokesperson than the Congress President, advising him to act in accordance with his role as party president.
\Congress Leaders’ Recent Statements
A few days ago, Congress leaders, including former mayor and Speaker Pramod Dubey and former Chairman of the Yoga Commission Gyanesh Sharma, held a press conference dismissing BJP’s claim of Rs 5,000 crore worth of development in Raipur South. They accused BJP MLA Brijmohan Agrawal, who served as minister for 15 years, of neglecting the city’s development, arguing that Congress under Bhupesh Baghel achieved twice as much progress in just five years.
