Chhattisgarh government’s major decision: Caste certificates will be issued to students only once instead of annually
Raipur: Chhattisgarh Government has taken a major decision in the interest of students. Now, the caste certificates will be issued to students only once instead of issuing the same every year. The caste certificate issued to the students will serve as a permanent record. The general administration department has issued instructions in this regard to all the district collectors, said an official release.
It has been clarified in the instructions issued that the validity of caste certificates will not be time bounded instead it will be valid for lifetime. It will be a permanent record. Now, there will be no need to issue these certificates time and again. In case the caste certificate is lost, its duplicate copy can also be issued by the authorized officer.
The district collectors have been instructed to ensure that the permanent caste and domicile certificates of students belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes studying from class VI to XII in all government, private schools and central board schools located in the state of Chhattisgarh should be prepared and distributed in their schools only. Camps for the same should be organized in schools every year. Pending certificates should be issued till the next academic session. Collectors have also been instructed to compulsorily send monthly progress reports in this regard to the General Administration Department (Reservation Cell).
