Chhattisgarh: GAD strictly instructs to ban single use plastic
Raipur: The General Administration Department has given directions to strictly ban the use of single use plastic in the state. General Administration Department secretary, D.D. Singh has written a letter to all departments of the government, all divisional commissioners, heads of all departments and collectors of all districts, stating that the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change had issued a notification to ban single-use plastic on August 12, 2021. Earbuds with plastic sticks, plastic sticks for balloons, plastic flags, candy sticks, ice cream sticks, polystyrene (thermocol) decorative items and plates, cups, glasses, forks, spoons, knives, straws, storage, distribution, sale and purchase of plastic materials such as cutlery such as trays, wrapping or packaging films for sweet boxes, invitation cards and cigarette packets, plastic or PVC banners has been completely banned from July 1 this year. In the letter issued, Singh has given instructions for effective implementation of the order banning the use of single-use plastic.
