Vice-Chancellor says CU and industry together will realize the dream of Self-supporting CG.

Guru Ghasidas University (Central University) Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Professor Alok Kumar Chakrawal has taken a resolution to realize the innovative vision of self-supporting Chhattisgarh and for this, a comprehensive action plan is being prepared, regarding which a meeting was called on 4 May 2022 at 10 a.m. under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor.
Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Chakrawal has started efforts at a rapid pace to give shape to this mega action plan with the aim of realizing the vision of employable education, skill development, and self-reliant India contained in the National Education Policy 2020. From the point of view of the only Central University of the state, with a sense of social accountability, and to bring to realization the dream and resolve of the overall development of the local youth and making a self-supporting Chhattisgarh, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Chakrawal brainstormed with experts associated with the education world.
The Vice-Chancellor said that the youth of the state of Chhattisgarh have immense potential. In a self-reliant Chhattisgarh, we have to make them self-reliant by developing and recognizing entrepreneurial qualities and honing their talent through skill development, emphasizing on presentation skills. From the day he assumed office, the Vice-Chancellor has been motivating the youth to be active in the field of entrepreneurship. Young students should not become job takers but job creators.
In the meeting, he said that no work is small or big, but the person performing that work determines the size, type, prestige and reputation of the work. Self-supporting student contributes significantly to the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) along with the interests of the society.
Under this resolution of innovative initiative, the students studying in the university have to be motivated to work in the field of entrepreneurship by providing them basic information about startups from the first year itself. The student will not be a burden on anyone during the study period as he will be endowed with self-reliance, courage and intelligence skills for future challenges.
Subject experts related to the university and industry will share information about the specifics entrepreneurship with the students along with making them aware of the limitless possibilities present in the field of entrepreneurship. In the meeting, it was decided to work in coordination with the institute and the industry.
In order to realize the vision of a self-reliant Chhattisgarh, the Central University will make necessary changes in the syllabi, in consultation with Central Universities CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM, District Industries Centre, District Industries Association, CA, CS, ICWA, MSMEs and as per the industry-wise needs. In the meeting, emphasis was laid on coordination at state and central level and renewal of university infrastructure for successful implementation of self-supporting Chhattisgarh scheme.
