Chhattisgarh legislative Assembly adjourned sine die

 

Raipur:The Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly was on Tuesday adjourned sine die, three days ahead of its schedule, after the House completed the business listed for the day, including passing of the state Appropriation Bill 2022, amid protest by the Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

After the Question Hour, the House finished its listed business, including 63 call attention motion, passage of the budget presented by the Chief Minister.

The budget session of the Assembly, scheduled to be held from March 7 to 25, was adjourned sine die on Tuesday. 

Speaker of the House Dr Charandas Mahant said that the budget session was comparatively shorter. However, the Members of the House utilized the valuable time and discussed on the development of the state, said Dr Mahant.  

The budget session witnessed ten sittings and discussion of 72 hour 45 minutes. A total of 109 questions were asked in the House apart from supplementary questions. In this way, 12 questions were discussed in the House everyday. 854 starred and 828 unstarred questions were included. 439 call attention motion notices were received. 

The Speaker said that MLA Santram Netam from the ruling party and Ajay Chandrakar from the Opposition were selected for Excellent award. The Speaker also announced the name of journalists selected for award they are Yashwant Ghote (Dainik Nav Pradesh), JulfikarAli (electronic media), Shashikant Verma (Hindi Khabar). The Speaker expressed thankfulness to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Leader of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ravindra Choubey, MLA Dharamjeet Singh and MLA Keshav Chandra. The Speaker also thanked Principal Secretary Chandrashekhar Gangrade and other officials of the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat.
