Presence of teachers in schools till May 15 is a must, reads DPI order.

The new academic calendar in schools to begin from May 1 before the month long summer vacation starts from May 16.

Raipur:Even as the academic activities of the education calendar 2022-23 in schools of Chhattisgarh will continue till May 15 immediately after the academic calendar is over on April 30, 2022, it is not mandatory for students of Class 1-8 to be physically present in their schools after April 15. However, presence of teachers in their respective schools is a must.  It is worthwhile to mention, the DPI in an order on December 10, 2021, asked the schools to extend the education calendar 2021-22 till April 30 to compensate the academic loss suffered by the students and hold offline examinations.

The Directorate of Public Instructions (DPI) has issued an order to this effect. The DPI has written to all the Divisional Joint Directors (Education) of Raipur, DurgBilaspurBastar and Surguja divisions of Chhattisgarh and District Education Officers (DEOs) to ensure the implementation of the order.

It may be mentioned, the School Education Department had decided to extend the session hold classes for new academic session i.e. 2022-23 for 15 days before the month-long summer vacation starting from May 16.

As the maximum temperature is hovering around 40 degree Celsius and it is expected to rise in the coming days, the decision to keep primary and middle school students away from schools has been taken by the DPI to prevent  them from heatstroke.

The order also reiterated that the students of class 1 to VIII should not be failed, but their academic assessment must be done and necessary measures should be taken if they found weak in any subjects.
